Collaborative challenges
The Collaborative Clusters Challenge from the 8012 FT Design Center is a one minute dare, in a slick and sinister all-black finish. Fourteen challenges, eight “lighter than they look” acrylic pieces and a solution guide, should you lose your way! In a seminal piece by Anne-Laure Fayard and John Weeks (professors of management, leadership and organisational behaviour) in the Harvard Business Review, the authors speak persuasively about workplace design that inspires collaborative innovation.
Using eight table top segments in a triangular shape with one snub nosed end, there are an array of four through eight seat collaborative configurations ideal for design dialogue. The professors would be intrigued with the energy I saw buzzing through the Design Center.
Simulating the actual workspace, is this clever Collaborative Clusters Challenge, available as a complimentary post visit take-away. The trick to the solving the challenge is to use either side of the pieces, which when flipped over, change orientation completely. Get your head around that, and you’ll solve the Frog and Serpent templates quicker than you’d imagine.
