Catching up on telly tales
Many youngsters complain that because of their hectic work schedule, they are unable to watch their favourite television shows. So, they are coming up with ways to catch up on these popular TV shows.
Divya Prasad, a doctor, misses out on her favourite shows as she works night shifts. “My shift begins at 8 pm which is when my favourite TV shows start!,” says Divya and adds, “My friends were discussing the series Lie to Me, but I was clueless.” RJ Neethi gets home by 11 pm and is usually too tired to watch TV. “I used to love all the programmes on TLC,” she says.
But these youngsters are not ready to give up. Says Divya, “Usually, doctors on night shift will sneak a peak at the TV in the hospital when there is a lull. In fact, we like to watch reality shows together and laugh over them, even if it is for a few minutes.”
Neethi agrees, “I usually catch up on my favourite shows online with websites like YouTube. Some channels also run episodes of certain shows online so I try and watch them.”
Techie Kiran Bhatt, who often works till late night says, “I buy DVDs of my favourite shows online and watch them in my free time.”
Divya relies on family and friends to help. “I had my family record the finale of FRIENDS, so I could watch it when I was free. They were happy to oblige as it is a classic,” she says.
