Cake thrower Aoki digs Delhi biryani
His signature style of throwing cake at the crowd where he is performing may have caused him some trouble in the past, but Steve Aoki didn’t disappoint his Delhi fans during his India visit. Steve, who performed at Kitty Su recently, made sure to keep the spirits up by following his signature style that many were looking forward to.
And while his performance kept everybody gushing for more, before going in to play, Steve told us that his first visit to India has been exhilarating. He loved exploring different cultures here at one place.
Before reaching the venue, Steve had already managed to visit some prominent places in the capital — from India Gate to the Akshardham temple, and also Nizamuddin Dargah. “It was good to visit the mosque. We even gorged on biryani, naan, lentils and kebabs there,” he said, adding that he wished he had more time to discover the country “with such beautiful culture”.
Come 2013, and Steve is looking forward to a lot of changes in the music scene. For him, 2012 is a time when everything is on an exponential curve, not just in music and technology.
“As far as music is concerned, it’s changing really fast. Now, boundaries have opened up and collaborations are creating harmonious synergies. I’m really excited to be a part of the change,” he signs off.
