Bips gets the award but can’t collect it

It seems like Bipasha Basu has come full circle indeed. Not too long ago, Bips was at the receiving end of some rather harsh criticism for having put on weight. Having joined the film industry with her svelte ramp model figure, the weight she gained over a period of time was noticed and commented on. But at a recent awards ceremony, the Bong beauty was named the fittest celebrity in Bollywood — although she wasn’t there to collect it.
Bips couldn’t make it to the awards ceremony held in Delhi as she was busy with work here in Mumbai. “Bipasha is currently shooting for Raaz 3 in the city and it simply wasn’t possible for her to take off to Delhi for the function. She felt really bad about not making it there though,” a close friend of the actress said.
If not in person, Bips did make it in spirit. On Sunday night, Bips had a video conference call with the organisers of the award, where she graciously accepted the honour. We’re sure it was a soothing balm!
