BioShock Infinite DLC Detailed
After staying mum about the downloadable content promised in the Season Pass for BioShock Infinite, the developers at Irrational Games have finally revealed what’ll be up for grabs.
Consisting of three packs, the Season Pass details not only brings in the much-anticipated story content, but also a more fleshed-out version of the combat scenarios found in the base game.
Starting with the combat DLC, Clash in the Clouds was released immediately following the announcement for the equivalent of $5. This piece basically introduces the player to familiar-themed “arenas” from the core game, such as Arcadia, and has them battling waves upon increasingly challenging waves of enemies.
This pack is a welcome introduction to the BioShock family, since even though combat was never the game’s strong suit, it had its moments. This pack has the potential to bring them front and center.
Along with that, a two-episode long story-based pack was also announced. Releasing later, Burial at Sea came with a rather teasing trailer featuring Booker and (a rather different) Elizabeth in Rapture. Unlike the original game in the franchise, however, this trailer (and hence the DLC) will be based in a Rapture during her prime. We saw glimpses of some of the more familiar establishments from BioShock 1 in attendance, such as Kashmir Restaurant and the Little Sisters in “training”, as well as a really, really freaky Elizabeth who seemed to be ordering Booker around. The story traces their escape out of the underwater city.
On top of this, it was also announced that the second episode in the pack will let players play as Elizabeth herself for some time. Burial at Sea will retail for $15 an episode. One can also buy the entire season pass for $20, and save 10 bucks.
