Beauty queen set for B’wood
Miss India World Vanya Mishra looks totally at ease while a host of make-up artists and hair stylists work on her to create a casual western look. But then, even at 20, she’s turned quite a pro in the glam world.
Asked whether she likes dressing up, she says, “Prior to winning the Miss India contest, I was just a regular college girl who would be most comfortable in a jeans and T-shirt. Make-up was a complete no-no. But all the grooming has made me learn how to do great make-up.”
In the city to launch a new centre of Strands spa and salon chain, she talks about her experience at the pageant, “Initially one does get a bit intimidated as you meet girls from over 115 nations and you know you are representing India. But then a beautiful journey unfolds, where we strike great friendships and learn a lot.”
She shared great camaraderie with Miss Columbia and Miss Venezuela.
Was she disappointed at not being crowned Miss World after reaching the top seven? “For me the journey is more important than the end. I have grown immensely as a person. I am satisfied,” she smiles.
So now what does she plan to take up? “I am just 20 and haven’t completed my undergraduation. I will complete my engineering now,” she adds.
Does Bollywood interest her? “I would love to take up offers in Bollywood. You guys will be the first to know when I do,” she smiles.
