Balancing act can be difficult
Creative differences between couples have often been the bone of contention for artists to go separate ways. With couples working together, the situation is no different. In a recent interview, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap said that his upcoming film That Girl In Yellow Boots would be his last film with his wife
Kalki Koechlin, unless he comes up with a script for a romantic comedy.
The director feels that the intense films they have done together who have taken a toll on their relationship. For all the talks of actors and directors keeping their personal and professional lives apart, is it really possible for them to pass the acid test? Actor Mandira Bedi played the lead in husband Raj Kaushal’s Shaadi Ka Ladoo believes it is best if the two worlds are kept apart. “You’re a different person at home and a different person on the sets. Working together surfaces many creative differences and that is bound to take a toll on the relationship. It is best to keep your worlds far apart from each other,” she says.
Psychologist Dr Rajan Bhonsle believes it is very subjective. “There are some couples that get along well because they are working together while others that have a smooth relationship because they stay away from each other. It depends on one’s individual need for space,” he says.
