Baby Khan on the block
In a move that brought forth the very best that science is capable of, superstar Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao welcomed a baby boy into their family on Monday, December 5. The baby, who was pronounced completely healthy, was born via IVF.
Apparently, Aamir and Kiran had been wanting to start a family soon after they got married, but the miscarriage Kiran suffered during the making of Dhobi Ghat threw their plans off track. Due to certain medical problems, the couple was then advised to opt for IVF.
Reports of the newest addition to the Khan khandaan came as quite a surprise as the entire Aamir camp remained tight-lipped through the pregnancy, and details of the surrogate mother have still been kept under wraps. Aamir and Kiran however, did release an official statement about their baby’s arrival on Monday morning.
Popular Mumbai gynecologist Dr Firuza Parikh, who helped the couple deliver the baby through IVF, confirmed that Kiran had been seeking treatment from her over the past year and a half after suffering from multiple miscarriages.
“Kiran had come to me with some medical complications. That’s when I’d advised them to have a baby through IVF. But we’d rather put all that behind us and celebrate the arrival of their baby. It’s a big moment for the couple. I’m very happy for them. Throughout the pregnancy, I had to ensure that I maintained their faith in me.
