B-town flaunts its power wardrobe

Collared shirts, high-waist pants and hard leather belts. No, we’re not describing a man’s wardrobe. B’town’s leading ladies are getting more and more comfortable with the upswing in the power equation and they are not afraid to flaunt it in their wardrobes as well!
Designers have noted that a lot of Bollywood’s divas are opting for a stronger, more androgynous statement, when it comes to their clothes. Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha and Kalki Koechlin have all been spotted sporting this new, bolder and rather boisterous look at recent events in the city.
Designer Lina Tipnis believes that not all women can carry off this not-so-feminine look. It needs a strong personality and an even more toned body. “The androgynous look is for strong women. The look exudes a lot of power and clout. One can adopt this style with a well fitting shirt, hard leather belt and smart trousers,” she said. “Also, make sure you carry a bag with sharp edges and not a loose one,” she adds.
