B’day boost for Big B

This October 11, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday promises to be truly special. The reason? The first episode of the fourth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati the game show that revived the Big B’s flagging fortunes in 2000, will be aired on Sony and the actor is looking forward to a double celebration of sorts.
“I will not be celebrating on the sets as I have already shot for the show but yes, I am excited that it is being presented in a new format,’ says the icon in his trademark baritone. “I started with this show ten years ago when I was suffering financial losses and my career was on a downslide. Star and Siddharth Basu approached me for the show. They took me abroad and showed me the original series, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire. I loved the format and asked Siddharth to ensure that the series here was made in the same format as well. My family and friends discouraged me from taking up the series. But the show was a hit. It was a great experience and turned out to be the turning point of my life,” he reminisces.
The buzz around the show this time is that Shah Rukh Khan and the Bachchan family will be a part of the celebrity rounds of the show. “I have not invited anyone so far,” counters Bachchan Senior.
