Akshay rubbishes false stories

Rubbishing media reports about things not going well between him and Twinkle, Akshay Kumar says, “I am surprised by these tall tales. I read somewhere that Twinkle and I have filed for divorce. I also read that she had an abortion!”
“While these made-up stories have irritated us, they haven’t disturbed our family life at all. Thankfully,
Twinkle and I share an excellent understanding. But my legal advisors are all set to put the records right. This was the first time that I was really annoyed,” the actor adds.
Currently, Akshay is awaiting his next mega release, Housefull 2. “It is not a slapstick comedy unlike the first film. All the four fathers in the film are played by veteran actors. The storyline too is quite intriguing. There is a lot of confusion and what happens owing to this confusion forms the crux of the story,” he says. “Filmmaking is like any other business. I remember having delivered 14 flops in a row, but I did not hold back because of them. I prefer moving ahead in life,” philosophises Akshay.
After Housefull 2, he has Rowdy Rathore to look forward to, besides Joker and Special 26. The actor is thrilled with the prospect of packing punches again on screen. He says, “At 40, I am craving to return to my action image. I am fit as a fiddle and this is like a dream come true for me. I was waiting to perform an action role before it was too late. Honestly speaking, I fancy action over comedy. Rowdy Rathore is an out an out an action role and Prabhu Deva has directed the film meticulously.”
Not many know this, but Akshay is one of the few superstars in the industry who is not a party animal. “I follow the mantra of early to bed and early to rise. Moreover, Twinkle too has a habit of sleeping early. Both of us don’t care much for partying. I even prefer my photo-shoots to be done early in the morning, around 4 am,” he says.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
