Add some nature to your bathing ritual

Bathing under the open sky is one of those elusive urban fantasies that every shift-bound workaholic indulges in once a while. And even though, taking an uninhibited dip in the lake or a bath under the waterfall ala several Bollywood heroines might not be an option, the concept of open bathrooms can get you very close to bathing under the open sky. So, we spoke to Tushar Mittal, the CEO of Studiokon Ventures about tips on maintaining an open bathroom.
Space: They can’t be an option if one doesn’t have enough private space in and around the house. And since it involves various natural elements, it’s important to safeguard the confidentiality of the area.
Maintenance: In our country, one has to keep factors like dust and wind in mind while considering an open space. So it’s advisable to have an adjustable or a sliding glass roof and one can even opt for a canopy to cover the area.
Décor: Since it is based on the theme of being close to nature, one must avoid a glossy finish or extremely stylised interiors to give a rugged look. Also, even inside the bathroom there must be enough potted as well as rooted plants to add to the effect along with loose pebbles strewn around the place.
