16 years on, Dutta shoots Border sequel

After a gap of 16 years, director J.P. Dutta will be back with the second installment of his movie Border. The makers announced that Sunny Deol and Sunil Shetty will be playing the lead. Talking about the decision to make Border 2, the director says, “I felt like making another film. And Border 2 tells a different story. I was going through the history of armed forces when I came across the Battle of Shakargarh Bulge. I believe it is a story that needs to be told on celluloid.”
The director confirms that he faced more difficulty with his second project than with his first. “Permissions were difficult to acquire. There were several technical issues brought to fore by government officials. It wasn’t so difficult and time-consuming when I made Border,” he said.
The director will start shooting the movie in October.
