‘Oops! Something went wrong again’
Social networking site Twitter can boast of having 75 million people on its roster, but a survey conducted by RJ Metrics says that almost 7.8 million accounts are inactive. Among the ones who are active, a lot of users complain about technical difficulties making the site difficult to use.
A few weeks ago, Bollywood woke up to a harrowed morning with several stars complaining about their tweets being repeated multiple times. One tweet by Abhishek Bachchan appeared ten times on his page, while papa Bachchan also let the world know of his disappointment by tweeting, “Yohoooo! Twitter Management! Something wrong with your server! All tweets repeating themselves into hundreds! Rectify asap.”
And it’s just not the celeb brigade who face this problem. Even the common janta is quite annoyed with the site. For BPO employee Dhaval Shah, following status messages of his friends has become a major problem. “I work on a night shift and my friends’ updates on Twitter are my best source to know what’s happening in the football World Cup. With all the technical problems surrounding Twitter right now, I have to rely on other sites,” he laments.
Other technical glitches include tweets getting automatically deleted or too much time being taken for posting a single tweet. “It is highly irritating when uploading my status takes time. I mean, I can’t express my excitement on Portugal having scored their fourth goal when they’ve just scored their sixth,” says Divya Aiyer.
