‘Dressy’ work out
With numerous award functions doing the rounds, and gazillion party invites coming your way, you don’t have to worry about carrying off a sexy dress even if you’re on the chubby side. Now, fitness and yoga gurus have come up with various sets of specific workouts that people can follow to carry off different types of attire.
From showing off your back, to revealing those curvy legs, there are certain workouts that’ll help you even on the eve of a party!
A number of celebrities like Rani Mukherji, Kareena Kapoor and Esha Deol follow this new pattern of ‘party’ workouts, which admittedly work best for regular gym-goers.
Explains celebrity fitness guru Satyajit Chaurasia, who is presently training Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan and several other B-town stars, “There are many cardio and circuit exercises that help knock off that extra bit of flab on your body, but if someone who does not ever do exercises wakes up one fine day and decides to shed weight just to look fab at a party, it won’t help. The aim is to sweat heavily.”
Looking good is the top priority for every youngster, but especially before attending a party.
Says Vicky Kapoor, Krav Maga expert, “Celebrities and models sometimes even skip meals during the day in order to fit into sexy attire. Exercises like cycling, jogging and weights that help in defining the biceps are the traditional ways of getting into shape just before a party. Treadmill and cycling will strengthen and define the back.”
The easiest part of the body from which to lose flab is the waist, according to experts. Even simple exercises like crunches and yoga asanas like kapalabhati make a difference.
Says M. Ershad, celeb trainer in Kollywood, “If you’re aiming to sport a flat tummy for a party, practice kapalabhati 15 times on empty stomach. The stomach is tucked in by one inch or half an inch and this exercise yields immediate results. Also, since partygoers are bound to indulge in good food, this asana will also take care of their digestion. This exercise is suitable for those who want to avoid a rigorous training session.”
Experts also have a number of dos and don’ts when it comes to deciding the food intake on the day of the ‘big’ night.
Says Udaya Kumar, a fitness guru down south who is presently actor Vikram’s trainer, “Fresh juices and protein-rich food help in keeping the energy levels consistent and don’t add that extra bit of flab that is usually prominent when people indulge in fatty food. Nuts, almonds, greens and fruits help add glow to the skin and body as well.”
The idea of this routine is to get rid of the water retention in your system. Says Satyajit, “A few minutes of rigorous cardio will take care of the back, lower body and legs as well.”
