Sonia to visit city in Sept.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi will come to the city on a two-day visit in between September 22 and 26 to take part in a conference on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the formation of the Congress party. The Congress leaders of eastern Indian states will take part in this conference. AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi will also visit West Bengal soon.

West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC) president Manas Bhunia on Wednesday said, “Mrs Gandhi will come on a two-day visit to Kolkata in between September 22 and 26. She will inaugurate the conference at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.”
Mr Bhunia also informed that he has also invited Rahul Gandhi to visit the state. “I have invited him to visit the districts of the state. He has assured me to visit the state soon,” the WBPCC president added.
All the credits will definitely go to Mr Bhunia if Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi visit the state before the Assembly polls. It would also definitely help him to corner his opponents in the WBPCC who had opposed to his selection as the WBPCC chief.
