President Pratibha Patil will release a five rupee coin in memory of Mother Teresa at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi to mark her birth centenary on August 26. President of the Catholic Association of Bengal Eugene Gonsalves informed this on Wednesday. “The President will release the coin on August 28,” he added.
Besides, film festivals on Mother Teresa will be held in six Asian countries, Father Robin Gomes, director of social communication commission of the Calcutta Archdiocese informed. “The World Catholic Association for Communication will organise the film festivals in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippine, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka later this year,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kolkata, the city where Mother dedicated her life providing service to the poor, will host the third Mother Teresa International Film Festival (MTIFF) at Nandan from August 26 to 29.
“Three international film directors including Pierre Belanger will be present there,” Father Gomes informed.
The MTIFF is among the eight programmes being organised by The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Calcutta, Missionaries of Charity from August 26 to September 12 in the city 5 coin on Mother Teresa
