CPM to expose ‘violent’ TMC
The CPI(M) is determined to gain maximum political mileage from the killing of two important leaders of Burdwan on Wednesday. The Alimuddin satraps want to showcase the gruesome murders as evidence of Trinamul Congress’ “intolerant and vindictive politics.”
It is for this reason that the CPI(M) has decided to bring the dead body of former Burdwan North MLA Pradip Tah to the city. The body will be kept overnight in the Peace Haven, a private morgue. On Thursday, party leaders and cadres will pay their last respects to the slain comrade. “We want the country to see the vindictive and violent face of the ruling Trinamul Congress,” a party central committee member Madan Ghosh said.
The body of another district leader Kamal Gayen will be given last red salute in the district on Thursday. When she was in Opposition, Mamata Banerjee used to bring the dead bodies of her party supporters killed in the districts in political clashes to the city.
Although the death of two senior leaders has come as a major setback for the party in the district, he claimed that martyrdoms of party leaders and cadres have in the past always strengthened the organisation and galvanised the workers. The party has called a 12-hour bandh in Burdwan and will observe Dhikkar diwas across the state on Thursday.
Immediately after the incident party state leaders including politburo member Nirupam Sen, central committee member Madan Ghosh, leader of Opposition Surjya Kanta Mishra, senior leaders Rabin Deb and Manab Mukherjee rushed to Burdwan.
The CPI(M) was surprised by the huge turnout at the Brigade Parade Ground rally on Sunday.
