Yusuffali slams Air India, quits board
Prominent NRI businessman Yusuffali M.A. has resigned from the board of Air India, saying the services of the carrier were increasingly becoming irregular and the fare hikes unjustified.
Non-resident Indians, especially in West Asia, were subjected to continued hardships, said Yusuffali who joined the board as an independent director two years ago.
“Since my induction into the Air India board, I tried my level best to bring changes in the way the national airline is working. But still thousands of our countrymen are getting stranded in the Gulf and in Indian airports due to frequent flight cancellations and delay of services and unjustified fare hikes, especially during the peak seasons,” Yusuffali said.
“I feel dejected at not being able to do justice to the faith reposed on me and I have decided to step down.”
