SIT seeks Many’s polygraph test

The Special Investigation Team that probes the political murders in Idukki has decided to conduct polygraph tests on CPM Idukki leader M.M. Mani and thr-ee other CPM leaders, with special reference to the Anchery Baby murder case.

The three are O.G. Mad-anan, M.K. Damodaran and Kuttan. Madanan and Dam-odaran are CPM Idukky di-strict committee members.

The four had told the SIT that neither they nor the party had any role in Anchery Baby’s murder. Ernakulam Range IG Pad-makumar, who leads the team, said the four would be served notices on Monday seeking their permission to conduct the test. The police will require to obtain prior permission of the accused to conduct the tests.

“If they refuse to undergo the test, we will presume they lied to us. They will have 10 days to respond to the notice. If they are to undergo the test, it will be conducted at the forensic lab in Thiruvananthapu-ram,” Padmakumar told DC.
