Rs 11.45 lakh stolen from Locked car
In a freak incident at Aluva on Wednesday morning, a man lost Rs 11.45 lakh as miscreants broke into his car and stole his bag.
Ashraf lost the money, when he went in to the Aluva Register Office after leaving the bag locked in car.
Ashraf had completed a land deal in the morning and had got the money from the buyer.
The transaction was completed inside the car itself and the buyer had left after the deal. Ashraf later went to the register office to complete the documentation.
He left the money in the car as he thought it would be safer inside the locked vehicle rather than carrying it with him to the register office.
However, he came back after half an hour only to see that the money had been stolen. The rear window of the car had been smashed.
The Aluva police have registered a case and a probe is on. The police are set to quiz those who knew about the land deal, as they suspect that only someone who was familiar with the transaction could have planned the robbery.
