Plea against doctor for fake certificate

A petition has been filed before the high court, seeking a CBI probe against a doctor, who has been allegedly practising for the past 26 years using a fake pre-degree certificate.

The petitioner, Dr Abraham Kuruvila of Thiruvananthapuram, alleged that Vinod Jacob of Kollam had been practising since 1986 and had gained admission without passing even the pre-degree exam.

Therefore, his admission to MBBS and MD was illegal. The doctor had submitted a false
affidavit before the authorities to obtain a duplicate mark list for pre-degree.

When the university was alerted about the fraud in generating the pre-degree mark list, it never bothered to extend the investigation to Fatima Mata National College, Kollam where the doctor had studied.

He was a practising radiologist and running a scanning centre under the name Quilon Scans in Kollam, petitioner alleged.
