Pet dog escapes, creates scare at airport

The Cochin international airport on Wednesday witnessed some tense moments after a ‘labrador dog’ being sent to Delhi on a SpiceJet flight as cargo escaped while being taken to the aircraft and entered the international terminal.

The incident happened at 11 am when the ‘pet’ of a Kottayam-based family jumped out of the cargo box whose lock was open.A worried security staff soon gave it a chase and managed to lead it to the donor room before being chained again.

Airport director ACK Nair denied that the incident was a security lapse but said an explanation had been sought from the airline concerned.
