No bail for Fasal ‘killers’
The Ernakulam sessions court on Thursday observed that the case diary pointed an accusing finger against Karai Rajan and Karai Chandrasekharan two CPM leaders in the Thalassery Muhammed Fasal murder case.
The court made the observation while dismissing the bail applications of the duo who are the seventh and eighth accused respectively in the NDF activist Fazal murder case.
Sessions judge A. Hariparasad dismissed the bail plea. “The plea of innocence raised by Karai Rajan and Chandrasekharan prima facie derive no support from the materials in the case diary,” the court held.
The probing agency, CBI argued that the duo were the architects behind the cold blooded murder and heavily opposed the bail pleas.
The court also observed that the two CPM leaders have evaded the process of law for a long time. The investigation is still continuing and two more accused are absconding.
The CBI argued that Karai Rajan is also an accused in the TPC murder case. The chances of the accused fleeing from justice cannot be ruled out so bail cannot be granted the court held.
