MVD officials red faced over new transfer GO
A new Government Order revising the posting period, issued last month, is delaying the rolling out of transfer orders of 250-odd Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) personnel this year. With the academic year starting, the officials say they will be forced to move out alone leaving family behind.
MVD sources said in view of the new GO, the old ‘willingness data’ had become redundant and a new ‘willingness data’ will have to be collected from the personnel, and hence the delay.
“Usually transfer orders are rolled out in April-May much before the schools reopen, so that the personnel can shift along with their families to their new place of posting. But this year, we’re still awaiting the transfer order. Most of us have children studying in schools,” an MVD official said.
The willingness options, under which one can choose three places of posting according to his or her priority, were collected in January, but no action followed,” he said.
As per the revised posting period, the Joint RTO and RTO (Regional Transport Officer) will be transferred from a particular centre on completion of one year and Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector and Motor Vehicle Inspector two years.
“Because of the new order out in June, we’ll be asking for a fresh willingness data. Once we receive the same, we’ll dole out the transfer orders as early as possible,” a top MVD official said.
