More hands in Fasal case: CBI
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday submitted before the Ernakulam chief judicial magistrate’s court that the investigation in the Fasal murder case should be widened to unearth the role of other conspirators as the murder was politically motivated.
The special investigation team meanwhile produced Kodi Suni, the prime accused in the T.P. Chandrasekharan and Fasal murder cases before the court.
The court granted the CBI request to extend the custody of Karayis till Friday.
“Since it is a political murder, possibilities of more conspirators exist. The two leaders are yet to disclose more facts regarding the involvement of two others in the case and other conspirators involved in the crime. So, custody of the two CPM leaders should be extended for one more day,” the CBI counsel argued.
The accused, Biju alias Pachutty Biju of Thiruvangad, Jithish alias Jithu of Kodiyeri, Arundas alias Cheriya Aruttan of Thiruvangad, M.K. Kalesh alias Babu of Ukkandan-peedika, T. M. Arun Kumar alias Aruttan of Muzhuppi-langad, and two local leaders, Karai Chandrasekha-ran and Karai Rajan, were produced before the court on Thursday.
The local leaders said they have no complaint about the interrogation. Gilbert Koreya, counsel for the two leaders strongly opposed the request for further custody.
Meanwhile, the high court has dismissed the bail pleas of three accused in the case.
