Metro land acquisition slows down
Land acquisition for Kochi Metro is moving at a slow pace despite the cabinet allocating `52 crore for the purpose and the state empowered committee approving rates finalised by the District Level Purchasing Committee.
“We are yet to receive any payment despite been promised of the same by October 15,” said Majlu Komath of the Land Owners Association.
According to district administration officials, the sanctioned amount is yet to reach the Kochi Metro Rail Limited entrusted with land acquisition. “The delay may be because the fund is being transferred through the treasury,” an official said.
“We will wait till November 1 before taking up the matter with the authorities,” Mr Komath said.
