Indigo set to fly non-stop to dubai
Giving relief to NRKs, low-cost carrier IndiGo is all set to operate daily non-stop flights to the busy Dubai sector from Kochi and Chennai.
Effective from August 25, the airline will launch non-stop flights between Kochi and Dubai and also Chennai and Dubai. It will be offering an introductory return fare of Rs 11,200, president Aditya Ghosh said here.
The entry of a low-cost carrier is considered to benefit Gulf Malayalees a lot as currently, airfares on the route has touched Rs 80,000.
Further, no ticket is available during the Onam season in the sector.
Ghosh also added that the airline will be adding more flights from Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
“We’re looking at launching Kochi-Trivandrum-New Delhi morning flights by this year-end when we receive the new aircraft, Airbus 320.
Currently, the airline operates the Delhi-Kochi flight in the evening”.
IndiGo currently operates four flights from Kochi and five from Thiruvananthapuram to destinations like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi.
The airline official also said IndiGo is positive about using the hangar (repair centre) set up by CIAL in future as “we look to continuously add more flights from the state including Kozhikode, in future.”
