HC: Consider daytime ban on liquor sale
Aggrieved by the alarming rise in liquor consumption in the state, the Kerala High Court on Tuesday held that the government should consider prohibiting sale of foreign liquor at any time before 5 p.m.
The court also asked the state to restrict the sale of liquor at bar hotels during day time and allow sale from five pm to 12 pm so that the state can reduce the rate of consumption of alcohol in the state ultimately trying to achieve total prohibition.
