Golf club members seek better facilities
A group of members of the CIAL Golf and Country club on Sunday, demanded better facilities and their involvement, while taking major decisions.
“We’ve formed a body, ‘CIAL Golf Club Members Association’ at a meeting this evening.
The grouping became necessary as we’re kept out while taking decisions such as introduction of by-laws.
“This despite investing Rs 2,21,000 and doling out `10,000 as annual fees,” said Adv Paul Antony, secretary of the new association.
He charged that the airport company is treating them as “consumers” and not as members.
“There is no committee in the club and the facilities are not up to the promised level”, he said.
The association plans to hold talks with CIAL MD V.J. Kurien.
“If they didn’t lend us a patient hearing we’ll take the legal course. This time we’ll pay our annual charges only if the issues are addressed,” Antony said, adding that the association will be registered soon.
During the meet on Sunday, S.Jayathilakan, former KMA head, was elected as association president and Minoo Varghese, the vice-president.
