Expo to encourage medicinal gardens
The Tripunithura municipality, Centre for Heritage Studies and Archeology Department are jointly organising the Hortus Malabaricus flower show from December 1 to 9 on the Hill Palace campus.
Various agencies like Kerala Horticorp Mission, Cochin Refineries and Ayurveda College, will participate in the flower show.
R.Venugopal, municipal chairman of Tripunithura said: “The nine-day festival aims at creating awareness among the public on medicinal plants and encouraging them to set up a medicinal garden in their homes”.
Government and aided schools, residents associations and Kudumbasree units will have pavilions at the fair.
A separate stall will be provided to art/painting students where works of students from RLV School will be on display.
There will be stalls selling fruits, vegetables and books.
Another highlight will be the cultural events to be organised in coordination with Kerala Kalamandalam and other major art institutions, added Venugopal.
