Expert committee to report on Media Kochi
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that an expert committee will be formed to file a report for the upcoming Kochi media city.
He was inaugurating Kerala’s second media centre under the Information and Public Relations Department at Ernakulam Civil station on Sunday.
The proposed media city will be on the model of the Dubai media city and will provide modern facilities and broadcast facility to print and visual media journalists, he said.
He also asserted that procedures will be taken to establish media centres in all districts of Kerala like the Ernakulam media centre.
The project for a government television channel was already on. The channel was intended for the welfare of the public, he added.
He also added that modern type of journalism and related courses will be started in this financial year.
Information and Public Relations Minister K.C. Joseph, MP K.P. Dhanapalan, MLA V.P. Sajeendran, MLA Anwar Sadhath, District Collector P.I. Sheik Pareeth, Director of I&PRD A. Firoze, zonal deputy director of I&PRD N.S. Anilkumar, district panchayat president Eldhose Kunnappilli, municipal chairman P.I. Muhammad Ali were also present in the inauguration.
