Business tycoon faces more cases
The Muvattupuzha police on Tuesday received three more complaints against UK based business tycoon Joby George, who is already under the scanner after being accused for swindling money worth millions, from several people.
However, it is learnt that the representatives of the accused settled two of these three cases by Tuesday evening.
Another complaint which was filed at the Muvattupuzha police station through an email says Joby George had received money worth $ 6,000 from the complainant by offering him a nurse’s job in England, but he failed to return the money or provide the job.
This incident which occurred in 2005, hints that Joby had been at his alleged swindling business for the past seven years.
Meanwhile, the police is still probing a case against the accused based on a petition filed by George Mangalathu of Madavoor, who complained that Joby and his wife Sinimole had siphoned off Rs2.47 crore after offering him an admission for MBBS in the University of Newcastle.
The police has also received a complaint from Shyam of Dubai, who said Joby had taken Rs85 lakh from him after promising to make him a business partner.
Joby George, who has produced a movie in Malayam, is believed to be a business tycoon in the UK. Reports say he has three hotels and nearly 30 grocery shops in and around Newcastle.
