350 cinemas remain closed

Nearly 350 cinemas affiliated to the Kerala Film Exhibitors’ Federation will remain closed with a meeting of exhibitors held here on Monday refusing to withdraw the stir.

However, the exhibitors said the issue would be resolved amicably if the service charge was increased by Rs 3. “The exhibitors have softened their stand. We’ll hold another round of talks in the presence of chief minister Oommen Chandy and Film minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar on Thursday,” Liberty Basheer, president of the Federation, said.
