A test of friendship
This “prank” is the most awesome thing that’s ever happened to me. Christmas Eve happens to coincide with my birthday. Last year, I invited all my friends over for an impromptu birthday bash at about 6 pm. But imagine my distress when not one of my friends showed up. I waited an hour, then two, but no one came or called. Finally, I called up one of my friends, but he wouldn’t answer his phone.
Extremely hurt by what I took to be my friends’ desertion, I went to my father and began to tell him what had happened — only to start crying! My parents consoled me and said we’d head to a restaurant for a birthday dinner.
On the way however, my father received a call and said he had to stop by his office to get some important papers. He convinced me to come upstairs to his office. As I reached for the light switch a loud “surprise” shocked the living daylights out of me!
As I saw all my friends waiting with a birthday cake and refreshments and my mom and dad standing by, I knew it was a moment I would never forget.
