No more Jenny Humphrey?
The latest news reports say that Taylor Momsen’s role in hit show Gossip Girls has been curtailed this season. The information comes in the light of increasingly volatile behaviour by the teenage star who plays Jenny Humphrey in the show. Taylor reportedly flashed the audience at a recent concert with her band and has also used foul language while referring to other teen stars like Miley Cyrus, following which there were rumours that she had been dropped from GG.
But a source on the sets told publications like People magazine and The Huffington Post that Taylor’s screen time had been reduced because, “When you see Jenny they want her to be driving the story, not just hanging out with the mean girls back in high school.”
Taylor has blamed her parents for the turmoil she is going through. In a recent interview, she was quoted as saying, “My parents signed me up with Ford (modelling agency) at the age of two. No two-year-old wants to be working, but I had no choice.”
Fans of the show have mixed reactions to the news. “She isn’t the most lovable character on the show. The way last season ended, with Jenny in disgrace, I don’t think anybody is dying to have her back,” says 17-year-old Avni M. Class 12 student Swarna Singh disagrees: “Jenny’s character started off as a very sweet one. And there have been lots of twists in the story because of her. If she goes, the story won’t be as interesting.”
