A misguided prank

It was the last day of our semester exams and time for us to head back home (we stayed in the hostel). Now most of our exam papers were pretty easy. But the professor who had set the last paper made it such a difficult one that we were all stumped.

I hadn’t ever played a prank until that day, but after the exam got over, I was so annoyed that I decided to play one then. I just had to come up with a good plan.
The professor was new to our institute and always scolded us when he saw us enjoying even after class hours. So, I went to the parking area and punctured his scooter’s tyre. I was happy when I saw all my friends rejoicing.
But later, to our dismay, we saw one of our favourite professors walking the new professor’s scooter to the mechanic on campus. To make matters worse for my conscience, it began raining very hard just then.
After our post-holiday return, I confessed to our good professor. To my amazement, he actually laughed. Till today, he has not told anyone about my silly prank.
