Movies have always been an inspiration to youngsters, be it for their latest fashion forecasts or for their gadgets. With scientists being inspired by movies and turning revolutionary by creating the invisibility cloak, youngsters are excited. Youth now want the flying car from Harry Potter, the neuralyzer or even a morpher from the Power Ranger series so they can turn saviours.

Board exams are always a cause of concern amongst teens but some think once they get hold of some of the wackiest gadgets, they can excel in studies with help from them.
Karishma Sanjeevi, a class 12 student, says, “I would love to see some scientists create morphers, so I can become as powerful like the Power Rangers and save the world. If I had an invisibility cloak, I don’t think people can prevent me from acing the exams! But jokes apart, I would definitely want to own a morpher, as I could memorise better for my boards.”
With early morning starts being a bane, helping one reach college on time even after getting up late would be wonderful thinks Lajja Shah, a class 12 student. “Travelling in traffic jams is one thing I hate the most. I would love it if some of the ‘youngster friendly’ scientists develop a real flying car to make my life simpler and faster,” she says.
If there’s one power that many youngsters want to have, it’s to bring back the dead. The evil joker from the Dark Knight has also been an inspiration to many and Kupalee T., a die-hard Heath Ledger fan, is no exception.
“I would love to see him alive again,” she says. And how? “By using the elixir of life, of course. Who wouldn’t want a second life and call people whom you really miss. I wish someone would invent the elixir of life from Harry Potter,” she wishes.
The youth also want gadgets that would help them erase all the bad things they have been up to and memories that cause them pain or embarrassment. Vinay Desai, a final year student, says, “I would love to see the Mr India invisible bracelet in reality and if I get my hands on it, I would play pranks on my friends and family. And maybe the neuralyzer from Men in Black which would help me erase memories that I am embarrassed about.”
On the other hand, Shruti P., a class 12 student, loves the stylish 007 man. “I love the gadgets that James Bond has in all his movies. Maybe some of them will help me study better and score well in my board exams,” laughs Shruti.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
