‘I listen to music while doing maths’
Music has always been an essential part of my life and while I was growing up I found that it was the best thing to happen to me. Back in school I was so fond of music that I created a small band with my friends.
It was called RIP and we used to play rock, trance, metal and other genres of music at a local coffee shop. It used to be fun because there were always more of our friends present at the café than other customers, whenever we played.
During my first year in college, we formed a small music band and performed on many occasions. Whenever I felt low or depressed, my music always helped me overcome my blues.
But generally, I feel I can concentrate better when I am listening to music as there are no distractions that can disturb me when I have my headphones on.
I prefer listening to music while studying because I learn better and quicker. I always listened to music while doing Mathematics. There’s a Billy Joel quote that I strongly associate with:
“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
