‘I called a girl I liked didi by mistake’
I used to be a good boy who would regularly go for classes and head straight back home. I never bunked classes as I was extremely focused on academics.
Though, I must admit that I was not a total bore either. I did my graduation from Punjab University and I was quite keen on extra-curricular activities. I would often take part
in dance competitions and painting. I guess it was my creative side that compelled me to do a diploma course in designing from the National Institute of Fashion Design.
In fact, it was at NIFD that I had a lot of fun studying. I remember being the youngest in the entire class and I would address my classmates as didi or bhai. Not only would they make fun of me, but they would also ask for my help in their projects and assignments. I was so used to calling my classmates didi and bhai, that one day when my friend took me to a disco and a girl came and asked me for my number, I even called her didi! She got really annoyed and I became the laughing stock for many days after that incident. My only indulgences used to be visiting the nearby ice-cream parlour with my friends, as I have always loved eating ice-cream.
