Woman's torso found in Niagara River
Police say they have found a woman's torso near Niagara Falls.
Passersby spotted the body - without a head or limbs - floating in the Niagara River and alerted authorities on Wednesday afternoon. The torso was sent to a hospital for an autopsy and police say it has been confirmed that the woman was the victim of a homicide.
Police say the woman found in the river was white, middle-aged, with a pierced navel and at least one caesarean section scar.
Police say they expect to have more details regarding the description of the victim by afternoon when the autopsy is completed.
Police say the body is not connected to a murder where body parts were strewn in two different parts of Toronto.
