Vaccuum cleaner hits n-plant
A nuclear power plant in Sweden has been put out of action following an incident involving a vaccum cleaner inside one of the plant's containment units.
A report in the country's English-language journal The Local, said the vaccuum cleaner was 'left inside' No. 2 reactor's containment during routine tests at the Ringhals powerplant south of Gothenburg.
Officials have confirmed it's a case of human error, saying 'someone forgot to remove a wet vacuum cleaner from the premises, which then caught on fire'.
Cost of repairs, since the incident in May, has been estimated at 1.8 billion kronor (£170m).
Plant authorities are now hoping to fire up two of their four reactors by next week.
