US military mystified by vapour trail

Washington, Nov. 10: The US military said it had detected no launch of a foreign military missile off California.

A local TV station caught on camera what appeared to be a missile vapour trail as it arched into the evening sky west of Los Angeles.

“We can confirm that there is no threat to our nation and from all indications this was not a launch by a foreign military,” the US Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defence Command said, but added that they had no explanation for the sighting.
