Top-secret Obama security plans found in Canberra gutter
A top-secret document detailing every minute of President Barack Obama's schedule during his Australia visit was found by an Australia newspaper, on a street in Canberra.
The 'Overall Program and Orders of Arrangements' booklet, which even reveals which limousine Obama will be stepping out of was found in a gutter, 100 metres from an official building, the Sydney Morning Herald wrote.
The 125-page security document even phone numbers of a dozen senior American and Australian officials. On the booklet's cover, it reads 'is not to be communicated either directly or indirectly to any person not authorised to receive it'.
The newspaper quoted security experts in Australia, who're surprised by the 'embarrassing slip-up'.
"If that had got into the wrong hands it would certainly put the President and some of his entourage at risk, if someone could respond quickly enough to having the information," said a Professor Dupont, the Michael Hintze Chair of International Security at Sydney University.
"Even if you were an ordinary crim, there would be a market for that kind of book, so it's not good news," he was quoted as saying.
