Tibetan dies after self immolation in China
A Tibetan man died on Friday after setting himself on fire, the latest in a series of anti-government suicide protests in China's Tibetan autonomous prefecture.
"A person died of self-immolation Friday morning in Jianzha county of Huangnan Tibetan autonomous prefecture of northwest China's Qinghai province," Chinese state-run Xinhua news agency in a brief report this morning said.
"The person's identity and cause of the death are under investigation, according to the prefecture authorities," the report said.
About 35 peoples mostly Buddhist Monks and Nuns attempted self immolations during the past several months stepping up calls for return of their leader the Dalai Lama.
Chinese government alleges that the immolations were an orchestrated attempts being staged from Dharmashala to create tensions in the Tibet and the surrounding Tibetan prefectures.
Consequently China has stepped security in all most all these areas including the Buddhist monasteries backed by various welfare measures to Monks.
