‘Thirsty 13’ make record for ‘maximum pubs visited in 24 hours’
A group of 13 bold drinkers has set a new Guinness World Record for ‘Most Pubs Visited in 24 Hours by a Team’.
‘Thirsty 13’ visited 200 bars and counting at press time, in 10 hours, breaking the previous record of a group that visited 170 bars in 24 hours set by a group in Chicago.
To break the previous record, the New York group had one member drink half pint at each establishment, with each beverage being signed for by the bartender and documented on a camera to show at was legitimate.
The new champions started drinking at 8:45 a.m. at O'Hanlon's Pub on 14th St., armed with a load of fives and singles, matching T-shirts and a Twitter account.
The ‘Thirsty 13’ went to pizza joints, sake bars, European bistros and everything that fell in their way.
