Suspicious envelope found at Israeli Embassy
Authorities say they are investigating an envelope with a white powdery substance found at the Israeli Embassy in Washington.
US Secret Service spokesman, Mr Max Milien, says the agency took possession of the substance on Wednesday evening for testing. There were no injuries.
DC fire and EMS department spokesman, Mr Pete Piringer, says the envelope was found in the embassy's mailroom. Mr Piringer says hazardous material teams are conducting tests.
He says there are no illnesses or threats associated with the envelope and the building was not evacuated.
Embassy spokesman, Mr Jonathan Peled, says the envelope was sent to the embassy, and not to anyone in particular. Mr Peled says officials do not know who sent it and it was not opened.
