Strauss-Kahn’s wife ‘deciding to leave him’ after endless ‘pathetic’ sex scandal claims
Anne Sinclair, the wife of shamed former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has apparently run out of patience, and is deciding to leave him in the wake of a series of sex scandals that emerged in October.
The French economist was sacked as IMF chief after accusations that he tried to rape a New York hotel chambermaid in May.
He returned to France after the charges were dropped, and then escaped more accusations of trying to rape a young French journalist in his Paris flat in 2003.
Police are now probing his alleged connection to an underage prostitution racket at hotels in Lille, northern France.
Until now, Sinclair, 63, had stood by her husband in the face of a damaging series of allegations.
But reports in France now suggest that Sinclair has told her friends that she has decided to leave Strauss-Kahn, the Daily Mail reports.
Le Figaro quoted some unnamed ‘friends’, as saying that Sinclair was demanding that Strauss-Kahn to pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars that she had spent on his defence in New York.
The newspaper said Sinclair was tired of the endless ‘pathetic’ disclosures about the man once tipped to be the next President of France.
