Snakes invade prison in Britain
A British prison is being invaded by snakes, which are scaling up the prison walls to “soak up some sun”, a media report said on Saturday.
One inmate was bitten by an adder, Britain’s only venomous snake. The incident has been reported from the Verne prison in southwestern England, the Australian reported.
Prison guards have posted signs warning the 600 inmates that snakes “are falling from the ramparts into the prison”. The bitten inmate said he thought the small animal approaching him was a worm, but realised it too late that it was a baby adder with its mother not far behind. Adder bites are not fatal for adults but require immediate, painful treatment.

Rome’s Trevi Fountain waters turn partially red
Rome, June 26: The waters of the Trevi Fountain in Rome partially turned red on Friday in front of a crowd of tourists and locals, news reports said.
In 2007 a man dyed the waters of the Trevi Fountain completely red, and images were seen across the globe, but on Friday, only a small portion of the Baroque fountain’s water was red, the ANSA news agency said.
Scores of police and firefighters quickly arrived at the scene to try prevent the dye from spread, using buckets and floating devices. Shortly afterward the red was gone except for a stain left on the marble touched by the water.
A diver inside the fountain also helped contain the damage, while part of the fountain was closed off to hundreds of people.
