'Singing bin' revives Scaffold hit
A ‘singing bin’ is being introduced in Liverpool to thank people ‘very, very much’ for binning their litter.
The bins will sing a refrain of the classic hit Thank You Very Much by Liverpool comedy pop act The Scaffold.
On Tuesday, founder member of the band Mike McCartney, brother of Beatle Sir Paul will record the song at his former school the Liverpool Institute, now the Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts.
A spokesman for Liverpool Council said: "He'll be re-recording The Scaffold hit Thank You Very Much, with the new line, 'for binning your litter'."
The campaign aims to inspire, encourage and enable people to make where they live, work and play ‘the kind of place we really want it to be’.
Keep Britain Tidy ambassador Kirstie Allsopp said: "I wish Liverpool's BID companies the best of luck with their Love Where You Live programme and encourage all local people to get behind the campaign."
Talking bins are also set to be introduced in parts of London as part of the campaign.
